His take charge attitude is a problem for strong-willed Raquel, but she can’t deny the attraction she feels toward him. Meets America’s spin doctor… Clayton Cox is the boss, and damn good at his job. He’s hired to improve your reputation and does so by swooping in, saving the day, and moving onto the next one. But he can’t move one from his newest client. Raquel is maddening, and gorgeous enough to make him forget his rule of never getting involved with a client. But Clayton can’t forget what happened the last time he mixed business with pleasure. All’s fair in love and war. Raquel wants Clayton, and nothing is going to stand in her way, not even Clayton himself. He doesn’t know what hit him, and soon finds himself juggling between having to improve her reputation and feign off her advances. Or will Clayton become the latest victim entangled in her web?

She played with their combined fingers. “And what about us?” “What about us?” He feigned ignorance. “Well, what the hell was that when we first came in here? Because at first you barely acknowledged me, and then poof, my nipple’s in your mouth.” He let go of her hand, rubbing it down his face. “Yeah, about that…” “Don’t you dare apologize!” she squealed, poking him with her finger, sounding like a shrew. He grabbed her finger. “I wasn’t going to apologize. I was going to tell you I don’t know what that was. It was like I couldn’t be around you all night without touching you.” The grin spread slowly, giddy excitement spreading throughout her. “Seriously?” He sat up and faced her so they were eye to eye. “I’ve never been more serious.” Raquel wanted to believe him, to attack him until he couldn’t see straight, but there were too many doubts that continued to swirl through her head while she tried to process everything he’d said. “What about your rule ’no dating clients’ rule?” He swallowed hard. “Let’s just say I’m going to have to trust you’re not playing me for a fool.” “I’m not.” She held up two fingers. “Scout’s honor.” He grabbed her hand, pulling her against him. He leaned down, kissing her lightly. “You were never a scout.” She put her hand on his face. “Hell, no, but you like me a little bad.”

VIDA'S REVIEW

This was a great read from beginning to end. If you're familiar with this series than you know that everything is not as it seems. Raquel Adams is know as Miss Man-Eater and needs to revamp her image to stay on TV. Enter the delectable Clayton Cox who is spin doctor extraordinaire. When Clayton and Raquel are in the room together sparks fly but Clayton refuses to get involved with a client. Unfortunately faith has a timetable of its own and what faith wants is these two together. In this delicious tale you're taken on a whirlwind journey filled with sizzling chemistry, hilarious antics, good friends and a wonderful storyline that captures your attention and holds you hostage the whole way through. I enjoyed this story tremendously and can't wait to see what's in store next.

“But that’s just the latest thing, the tip of the iceberg you’ve been creating for years. Shall we go through some of the other stuff?” Clayton clearly didn’t expect her to answer, because he picked up the magazines he’d brought from the desk and put them down in front of her. It was bad, but Raquel refused to hide despite how much she wanted to cringe. Rumors of hard partying, cocaine use—even though she had never used it—infidelity, orgies, stripping. And that was just the rumors. As a finale he had a list of the names she had acquired—bitch, whore, slut, jezebel, home wrecker, and her moniker, Man-Eater. This is embarrassing, Raquel thought, seeing everything in black and white. It was something she hadn’t thought about; hell, half the time she cultivated it, but now she was left with regret. David was the final straw. He took her already fragile reputation and pummeled it to the ground. And what was his response when she asked him about it? “I just wanted a piece of the Man-Eater, but you didn’t even put out. Hope it was worth it. ” “That’s not all true,” she said. Great, Raquel, way to sound like an intelligent, self-assured woman. He shook his head, looking at her as if she was crazy. “No one cares. I don’t know how many times I have to tell you that, but you need to get it through your thick skull. Your reputation is in the trash, and your job is on the rocks. You need me, which is why you called me. Because I am the best, and the only one who can repair your current reputation. You may not want to need me, but you do.” Raquel reached for the pitcher full of water in the middle of the table, pouring a glass and taking a long drink, wishing it was tequila, while she composed herself. “What happens now?” He raised his eyebrows, acknowledging that she ignored his statement. That was the best he was going to get from her, so he just needed to chill. “Right now? You are going to go the hell home and stay there. Don’t go out, because I can’t trust you to go anywhere. Even your local family restaurant isn’t safe when you’re around. Read over the contract,” he passed her a manila envelope that contained a bunch of paperwork, “carefully, because you are basically signing yourself over to me for the next six months. If you agree to the terms, then let me know and I will tell you where we go from here.” She opened the folder, noticing how thick the contract was. “What is your strategy?” “I’m not telling you before you agree. If you want it, you’ll sign it. And if, God forbid, anything else comes up, call me immediately.”

Brea quickly grabbed a glass of champagne from the bartender, desperately wishing it were a shot of Patron, turning to lean back against the bar and search for her producer, Garrett. He was nowhere to be found, but sure enough, the bane of her existence was striding toward her with purpose. Could a girl not catch a break? Downing the champagne in one unladylike gulp, she put her glass on the bar and waited for the showdown. It was bound to be a good one, if the first two were any indication. For once, she wasn’t going to shy away from him, figuring she needed to nip his arrogance in the bud now. “Hey, darling.” Lance smirked at her, knowing he irritated her and doing it anyway. She smiled mockingly. “Look who it is: Hollywood legend and actor extraordinaire.” She leaned closer, her lips a hair’s breadth away from his. She knew exactly what she was doing and knew she had him when those green eyes grew hazy with what was to come. “Edgy, sexy as fuck, and just rough enough around the edges to seduce random girls in the back.” She moved, kissing his cheek softly before whispering in his ear, “Too bad you won’t ever get that shit from me.” She felt him tense at her words, but he kept quiet. She pulled back, laying her lips lightly on his before she leaned back to gauge his reaction. His eyes narrowed, realizing he played right into her hand, and he moved before she could guess what he was doing. She found herself pinned between his arms against the bar, her body pressed against his tightly. She could feel his erection against her center, making her want to rub up and down his body. She didn’t have to move; he did it for her, holding her hostage with his piercing glaze. He rubbed once, twice, making her squirm in an unconscious bid to get closer. What started as her plan to put him on notice had backfired. “You feel that?” He pressed his erection into her hips, pressing tiny kisses to her jaw. She bit her lip to resist the moan of pleasure. She was captivated and could do nothing except nod her agreement. “Good. I want you to feel me, and know this—” he rocked against her again “—is all for you. I’m not like your other guys. I’m not nice, and it won’t be pretty. But you’ll beg.” He bit her ear lobe softly. She was burning up and about ten seconds away from hopping on the bar and spreading her legs for him before he jerked away from her. Brea stumbled from the loss of contact, embarrassed by her reaction to him, staring into green eyes flashing in anger. “Listen, Brea, this ain’t a game. You want me? That’s fine. Jealous because you think I took some girl in the back room? I didn’t, by the way, when all I’ve seen for the past three days is you, but I got no problem with that either. But if you want to be a cocktease in the middle of a cocktail party? You better be prepared to follow through with what you’re promising.” “I’m not like that,” she argued, irritated he continued to ignore what she said. Again. “You’re not like what? Because the only two times we have really interacted you have been like that. So, who are you? America’s sweetheart or harlot?”
