Presents

Release Blitz: Fighting Weight
by Gillian Jones

AMAZON
Available with Kindle Unlimited

Genre: Inspirational Contemporary Romance

We all have that voice inside our heads.

The one that speaks to us incessantly. That voice we trust to make the right decisions, to keep us on a positive path, even when others try to bring us down.

But what happens when that voice changes?

When it's no longer a voice of reason, a voice of comfort giving us a pep talk when we need one?

What happens when that inner voice turns into a bully?

You're fat.
Don't you dare eat that.
You'll never be as pretty as her
You'll never be as good as them.
You're lazy. You're stupid.
You are disgusting.
You. Are. Nothing.

What happens when that inner voice makes your body takes its side?
Binge.
Purge.
Binge.
Purge.

And what happens when the bully starts to win?

If your name is Alina Cassidy, then you fight like hell.

Warning: Deals with subject matter some readers might find sensitive. But I promise an HEA.

VIDA'S REVIEW

This book right her, (gotta repeat myself) I mean this book right here there are no words to describe it, I believe it will touch every woman out there. I believe that what Alina is fighting with is what every woman is fighting it might not be in the same shape and form but we all have that bully on the back of our heels telling us and making us think that we are not enough. Bullies come in every shape and form and I'm not saying it's in the form of an eating disorder but it is all avenues of our lives. Alina might come from a different respective as you but most definitely can you relate. I have nieces that are so body conscious that they refuse to eat and I HATE IT because I need them to be comfortable in the skin that they are in. This book is a revelation to every woman out there, that you are beautiful regardless of what your weight size is, what your height is, and no matter what color you are and any other avenue you need to realize that you were created to be you and no one else so LOVE YOURSELF REGARDLESS!! GILLAN has done an OUTSTANDING job and I'm so proud of her because every book she writes is a message to every woman and that's to always love you before anyone and anything!!!!

VIDA'S REVIEW
Gillian has taken me on a journey that absolutely wrecked me.  When you start this book, be prepared for a long night, because you will not want to put it down (just a fyi, make sure you have a box of tissue at the ready). I never really realized how much emotion words can pull out of you, and how much you can truly care about fictional characters until reading this incredible book. It’s really a true masterpiece. Trinity is a young woman who believes she tainted by an encounter that will forever impact her life. Hendrix is a man with one goal in mind and that is owing his own garage. One chance meeting with Trinity (Fruit Loop) changes all of that for him. This extraordinary couple will have you laughing, crying, and truly believing in the power of love. This author has created such strong, well-developed characters that convey such emotion and depth, that it leaves you feeling the same things that they do, which makes the story and characters seem so real. This beautifully told love story isn't for the faint of heart but it does shed a light on a topic that most would shy away from. This book is about believing in something or someone and not letting your fear and your past mistakes rule you or your life. It's about having hope when the deck is stacked against you. It's about no matter how much baggage you carry, there will always be someone to help you shoulder your load and take it off your hands. I truly am in love with this tale and can't wait to see what this author does next.

*Includes an extended scene from On the Rocks!

My Mind's Eye (Book 1) Ryker She is the epitome of the girl next door, but with a feistiness that makes my dick throb. I’m drawn to her like no other. She stirs things in me I have no desire to feel, makes me long for things I shouldn’t. This is my game. I choose the players, and I never play for keeps. I don’t believe in fate. I make my own destiny. I work hard and play harder. Luck is for pussies, karma for idiots. Me, I make shit happen. Meeting her fucked up my plan. Threw me off my game. I’m now face to face with my karma. Her name is Kat Rollins. Kat Ryker Eddison is the epitome of a player. You know the type: Mr. Get In and Get Out. He’s all about the chase, wanting just one night. Everyone knows this—I know this. Still, I find myself craving him, my greedy body betraying what my heart and mind already know: he will only bring me pain. He’s the guy who girls like me should avoid. I’m smart; I know better. But when I’m with him, I feel things I’ve never felt before. Things I never knew I wanted. I can’t deny it … I like the chase. The high is explosive, but I’m afraid if I give in, I may end up losing more than I can handle: my heart.

On the Rocks (Book 2) Braunwyn Four years ago, losing the love of my life almost destroyed me. Years of being labeled and looked upon with disdain by everyone in my hometown almost wrecked me. Four years ago, I became a mother and together we were enough… until I met him. He wanted to rebuild my broken —I just didn’t know how to let him. This is my story, of how one man’s love changed everything I thought I knew about life, love and myself. Can Levi Eddison prove to be my restoration? Levi Everything in my world changed the day Braunwyn Daniels walked into my pub. She was a woman of many contradictions. I recognized the happiness and sorrow each fighting its way to the surface from deep within. I was drawn to her immediately. Behind her long legs, chestnut brown hair and beautiful eyes lay a damaged soul. I needed to change that —I just didn’t know how. This is my story of how I met a broken girl and vowed to make her whole. In the end, it turns out I knew nothing about true happiness until Braunwyn Daniels let me love her.

***SPECIAL NOTE *** Mental Illness is a growing concern in our world today. On the Rocks is about surviving the aftermath of suicide, and believing in love again. Levi and Braunwyn’s love story is inspired by events that impacted the lives of people I care about deeply. I hope you enjoy their journey.

One Last Shot (Book 3) My name is Claire Knox. People say I’m the female version of a player: a boyslayer, if you’re fluent in urban dictionary speak. I hate long term relationships. I’ll never commit to sticking around long enough to get attached to the notion of love, marriage, or the proverbial two point five kids. No sirree Not this girl. There’s no way I’ll let myself get hurt by losing someone I love ever again. Been there, felt that. Consider me damaged goods if you will, but I'm happy. Or so I thought, until my path crossed his again…

VIDA'S REVIEW

What a great debut from a wonderful up and coming author that I will be reading from here on out. This was an exciting sexy romance with just the right amount of drama in the mix. She constantly kept me on my toes with these gorgeous, witty, stubborn characters. Ryker (Honeybutter) is a man-whore with a well known rap but one look at Kat (Kitty Kat) and he is hooked. So hooked that whenever he's in her presence he gets so tongue tied all he can do is give this sexy a** growl. Kat not actually knowing what his problem is believe that he doesn't like her so she puts on this front because she doesn't want to give away the fact that one look into his eyes and she was a goner. Now let's talk about the sexual tension! Whew! I'm fanning myself all over again. Not too angsty, incredibly sexy with a dash of sweet mixed in makes for a perfect romantic, feel good read. In book 1 of the Pub Fiction series we're introduced to some pretty awesome characters like the main ones, Honeybutter and Kitty Kat along with brothers, roommates and a sister from another mister, who I hope will get their own stories soon enough. You not only get the scorching love scenes, but you get a story full of emotion and heart, and it will take you along the journey with these wonderful characters.

VIDA'S REVIEW

On the Rocks was playing out like a movie in my head and I never wanted it to end. Once again Gillian has put her heart and soul into this book and it's a beautiful tale. At the very beginning of this book, you feel right away Braunwyn's (Scrappy) torment and gut-wrenching sadness at losing her best friend and father of her unborn child. Fast Forward years later and Braunwyn is almost finish with school but realizes that in her chosen field she needs to have some people skills. She lands a interview at Pub Fiction which is own and operated by Levi. From his first look at Braunwyn he knows that she's it for him, unfortunately he also notices the sadness lurking there also. With the patience of a saint Levi slowly but surely gets Braunwyn to open up. There's nothing more sexy than a man who knows what he wants and will do whatever it takes to make sure he gets it. This story shredded my heart to pieces, and carefully put it back together again. The strength that these character showed was amazing, and I can certainly learn a lot from them. I loved the fact that Gillian touched on a subject that not many write about but a lot experience. Heartwarming to the very end, On the Rocks took me on an emotional journey of a young woman stuck in the darkness, and the man whose light was making its way into her soul. There were certain characters that I would love to know more about, and of course catch up with in the next installment because this is one author who I will be following.

VIDA'S REVIEW

This book gave me the feels oh so good. I have been in love with this series since the first book was released and One Last Shot just made me fall in love with Gillian's writing and her characters just a little bit more. Matt is the kind of hero that every woman is looking for in their life and if Claire wouldn't have gotten her act together I would have totally taken him for my own. Claire never getting over an event from her past which made her believe that if you love someone you will somehow get left behind or hurt, leaves Matt without a goodbye or reason. For two years he has held out hope that she will get rid of her demons and return to him and when she does her beliefs are still firmly intact. Matt with the patience of a saint knows that she is the other half to his soul and sets out to get her to admit it and that together they can overcome anything. I enjoyed this book tremendously, it was fun catching up with the other characters from previous books who to me feel like family. I recommend this book for all readers who likes a second chance romance where love is worth fighting for after giving it ONE LAST SHOT.

Screwed. Done for. Finished. Finito. Fucked. Completely fucked. I need to get a grip. I knew taking the job here was going be a risk; it always is when taking a job where you’re the one on faculty with the least seniority. What I didn’t expect was that there might be a risk I didn’t foresee that could end my goddamned career. And one I’d meet on the first day of school. It’s my first year teaching at the University of Toronto. I was headhunted by the school, and finally agreed to make the move from Queen’s in Kingston to Toronto this year. Having my friends Mercer and Dylan both teaching here helped with my decision, but it was the chair offering me the two courses I loved to teach most that cinched it: Sexual Aesthetics & Representations in Film and Masters Thesis Essay in Sexual Diversity in Film. Both fascinating courses, and both with the same student enrolled who has me rethinking my decision to come here. Three words. Ellie Raine Hughes. They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression, and my first impression of Ellie—albeit unique—is not one I’ll soon forget. I’ve never had quite the “meet cute” as I did this morning—she is adorable. I swear to Christ, I thought my dick was going to spring out of my jeans when she settled into the seat in front of me in my Sexual Aesthetics class. First impression: not only is Ellie beautiful, she smells incredible, a mix of fruit and candy with a subtle vanilla twist, and I’ve never smelled anything quite so satisfying before. Don’t get me started on my thoughts when she took her sweater off. I’m curious to see if she’s actually a serious student or just the little jokester I saw glimpses of this morning. Not going to lie, I’m eager to find out. I always like to sit back and observe the students as they make their way into class on the first day. I find it gives me a better sense of who’s who, provides me with good insight for the semester; it gives an outlook as to what type of class I might have on my hands. Is there a good balance of serious and non-serious students? Are they a loud crew? Is the room full of students that think this will be a bird credit? And so on. This morning, however, I noted none of that. Sitting behind Ellie and Courtney only proved to distract me from my ritual viewing as my eyes and ears didn’t make it past them. I was instead too caught up in them—in her. As soon as I heard her honeyed voice make its way to my chair, my ears weren’t the only things that perked up to pay attention. As I sat back, I saw that Ellie’s smile was just as infectious as her laugh, and my senses zeroed in on her—and only her—during the time I was meant to be observing everyone coming in the lecture hall. Unfortunately, I honestly couldn’t tell you shit about the rest of the students, only her. If she’s as smart as she is attractive, then she’ll definitely be somebody’s jackpot. From experience, though, it’s never the way. It’s rare that a person is ever actually blessed with the trifecta of wit, intelligence and beauty that Ellie’s “Mr. Vernon” reply indicated. I just might like holding her for detention. Either way, I’ll gladly accept the lovely view for the semester. I, myself, prefer brains with a more understated beauty. Not that it would matter if I were attracted to her anyway, teacher/student relations are a no-go. However, listening to the two young women was quite entertaining. Entertaining to the point where I was almost late starting the class. Ms. Hughes seems to have a rebel streak, that whole “A for Asshole” joke piqued my curiosity. I’m very interested to see what type of student Ms. Hughes will be. Truth be told, I’d like to hear her thoughts about me more than I’d care to admit. Did she find me intimidating? Good looking? Does she think I’ll be some stuck up film guy, or did she like what she saw? I have a pretty good idea where Ellie’s friend was going before I choose that as my point of entry into the conversation. Luckily, I managed to start class on time, while gaining two new model students, I presume. The look on both women’s faces was priceless, once I’d introduced myself after I stood up from the seat behind them, shocking the hell out of them. The blush over Ellie’s face was even more compelling. Now, if only I could stop trying to imagine what the rest of her would look like flushed under my perusal. Ellie Raine Hughes could be big trouble if I’m not careful.

VIDA'S REVIEW

Once again Gillian has left me panting and hoping for more. Ellie is a college runner who was injured and lost her scholarship so she needs a job pronto. Her best friend tells her about a job where the pay is quick and easy the only catch is what it is (Phone Sex Operator). After hilarious moments between her and her best friend trying to come up with her name Chanel69 is born. At the same time there seems to be intense chemistry between her and her professor who is also her thesis advisor Ace. These two know that anything happening between them is forbidden but it feels so right. Can they make it until she graduates, will Chanel69 be able to handle the calls? You know you want to know so just PICK THE BOOK UP, trust me it will leave your panties wet and your heart happy.

Excerpt

Claire Holy Jesus sittin’ on his rainbow, does Matt look delicious. He looks so fucking manly, incredibly sexy and completely all consuming like I remember. When he first called out my name, I swear my ovaries perked up like the mothership had arrived to bring us to planet Gonna Get My Rocks Off! Fuckity fuck fuck. He’s actually here, and I know I’m in trouble. My kryptonite is facing me, his light brown eyes laced with flecks of mahogany. They rake over me, taking in my now wired body inch-by-inch. His gaze is heavy and painstakingly slow, igniting my skin with a warmth I’ve not experienced in a long time. God, I hope he likes what he sees. Wait, no. No, I don’t. In mere seconds, this man is inciting a frenzy of emotions that prove exactly why I wasn’t ready to see him yet, proving that I needed more time before this reunion, confirming that he can easily annihilate all of my best-laid plans, the ones my brain has worked overtime convincing my heart to make. I need more time to make proper preparations, to ensure my bridge troll is ready for battle, that he is stable enough to keep the drawbridge strategically locked in place, ready to withstand the blunt force that is Matt Bishop. Most of all, I want more time to practise the apology and then the time to actually apologize—to explain. Time to just tell him I’m sorry. Looking at him, feeling him, I realize I can’t risk more than that or I will be lost again. Unfortunately, none of what my brain wants is happening right now. He’s here. And from the moment I set eyes on Matt, all I want is him, anyway I can have him. Moving up from my neck, Matty whispers softly in my ear and my breath hitches: “Tell me, Claire, do you still taste sweet? Like sugar melting on my tongue, leaving that addicting-as-fuck strawberry ice cream taste running down my chin?” He tickles my memory, my throat forgetting how to swallow as he wets his tongue and moves it lightly over my earlobe, awakening the familiar pulse between my legs, the one that always builds with each of this man’s dirty words. “Christ, baby. You were so fucking good, my tongue licking up every single drop of juice that dripped from your hot tight cunt.” The timbre of his voice causes tingles to travel down my spine, the anticipation of where this is all going making my toes curl at the prospect. “I want to kiss you, Claire. Tell me it’s okay to kiss you.” “Jesus, Matt.” I want to sag against him. His filthy words make my knees weak. Matt squeezes my hips, pulling me flush to his strong body. Leaning in, he runs his mouth ever so softy along my neck before meeting my eyes again. I step out of his hold, needing to give myself a bit of distance. But instead, I find myself staring at him, unable to look beyond the man of my past, the one I can’t seem to let go. The same one for whom my heart thumps erratically in my chest, the same one I wish almost daily I’d kept, the same one I don’t know if I can keep. I can’t believe we’re back here. Matt’s beyond the man-pretty guy I remembered. His chiseled jaw is highlighted by more than a five o’clock shadow. His lush lips are full, with that pouty bottom one making me want to tug on it because it’s so tauntingly perfect. He’s fucking ripped, too—Adonic, if you will. His plain white-t-shirt strains over his incredible shoulders, his defined chest and toned biceps. The telltale marks of tight abs pull my gaze as I make my slow perusal, visibly eye-fucking the shit out of him. God, I like what I see. A lot. I want nothing more than to run my tongue along each dip and dive of this man’s body. Matty’s body was made for sin and I’d gladly volunteer as the sinner if it meant I’d get to repent at the shrine that is this man. I let out an almost audible moan as I stand lusting for all the things I want to do to him. Matt pulls me back in tight, holding me close against him, laughing against my ear. “Like what you see, Claire?” I’m busted. I’ve got drool stains all over the front of my shirt, no doubt. Hell, yes. “It’s all right,” I shrug, but can’t help the nervous giggle that escapes my dumb-ass self as I’m caught. “I think you do. Better yet, I know you fucking do and I know I affect you still, even now.” “Jesus, Matt. Okay, yes, I guess you’re still kinda hot and maybe you do affect me just a little bit.” I give him an impish grin. “Thank Christ for small miracles. And for the record, I can smell that it’s more than ‘a little’.” “Matt!” I shove at his chest, feigning embarrassment. If it were anyone else I might have been, but not with Matt. No, with him I’ve only ever been comfortable, been myself. Matt takes the remote off the bar, turning up Keith Sweat’s “Nobody”, the sound pumping through the speakers. “Dance with me.” It’s not a request, but a command. Holy shit. This is happening. Matt Bishop, my Matty, is standing here, holding me tight in his arms after two years. There’s so much I need to say, want to say. But in this moment it’s obvious that words aren’t required, that this is what we both need from each other. Matt’s lips hover over mine. “Can I kiss you now, Claire?”
