Grabbing her roughly by the arm, he hauled her back until she was flush

against him, her back to his front.  Grinding his erection into her ass, he 

lowered his lips to her ear.  “You think you can push me like that and I won’t 

respond?” He taunted, nipping her ear painfully.  She let out a low moan, her 

body beginning to betray her.  

“You’re mine.  I won’t share you, and I’ll be damned if I let anything happen to 

you, Gwyn.  The sooner you get it through your head that I own you now, the 

better.”  His hand trailed down her body, cupping her aching pussy through 

her shorts.  Feeling her heat, he groaned.  Dragging them backwards, he hit 

one of the tall trees, his hands coming up to brace her shoulders.

“Brady, please,” she begged.  Her body was a slow fire, desire taking over 

every part of her being.  This man and his fierce possessiveness of her 

awakened a darkness in her she didn’t know existed.  He pinched her nipples 

roughly through her thin shirt, her back arching against him.

“You want my cock, sugar?  Right here out in the open?”

VIDA'S REVIEW

My mind is officially BLOWN AWAY by this book and I’ll be reading EVERY SINGLE THING that Cassia Brightmore writes! I am so impressed with this book for a debut author. The depth of emotion, the power of the words, and the unbelievable plot line…it’s just ridiculous!  This for me was a physiological thriller with romance and definite chemistry between the two main characters from their very first meeting.  I felt like I was literally holding on to the edge of my seat the whole way through, there was absolutely no pulling me away from this read whatsoever. Sheriff Brady left the big city and settled into small town living after a devastating loss and Gwyn was running and trying to pick up the pieces from a volatile ex. Neither expected to find love, which was so instantaneous and undeniable. Unfortunately the sheriff has a murder that needs solving before things escalate any further. Some scenes will be hard to read. You might even have to set the book down for a little bit to let it all sink in, and let all the various emotions flow through you.  It played out like a movie in my mind, and I was right there, gasping for breath, mind running wild, anxiety turned up to the nth degree. There were so many twist and turns in this book that even after it ends you're going to want to read it again just to make sure you didn't miss anything. In this type of dark romance, you think you know what will happen next, but I can guarantee you that your theories don't stand a chance. Because Cassia will flip it, she will throw us off kilter on multiple occasions, and she will make us think twice about what we think of a certain character. I embrace that, I crave it, and I can't wait to see what she brings us next.

In this story the action was what kept my attention. I loved our female lead the most. She was definitely kick ass. The action involving her was the best part. The two main characters chemistry was fun to experience too.
The writing was good, although I am not huge on background info. There was a ton of points where it was just paragraph upon paragraph I prefer dialogue and action most. The plot of the story is very good though. I honestly didn't completely guess what was going on until it was revealed. I love that most in a story.

About the Author-
WE…yes you read right. We are two separate individuals who met in a writing group on FB. In this group we dabbled in writing and hit it off, each liking the other’s strengths and complementing the other’s weaknesses. When the opportunity presented to Downey to submit to a publisher she approached Greene to join her in the journey. Both with hectic lives they took turns writing, swapping ideas and chapters, thus creating their first book, Partners in Crime. Here is a little something about the Dynamic Duo.
Downey: Otherwise known as Maureen lives in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. She is your typical suburban soccer mom; well ok there is nothing typical about her AND her kids play EVERYTHING but soccer. Downey as she is known in this duo has 5 kids ranging from 12 ½ to 19. And to answer the question swirling in your minds…YES, she is crazy. She has been married for over 21 years to her best friend and love of her life. She LOVES to read, her appetite is voracious for all things books. Her job at a local bookstore was by far one of the best experiences and fed her addiction to the written word. Going to book signings and having them at the store were her rock star moments; she is a total fan girl for authors. When that job disappeared she felt bereft, with much floundering she stumbled upon the underbelly of FB and fell in love with writing. Creating stories and weaving tall tales helped ease the indecision that plagued her. The feedback and support for her writing blew her away and prompted her to open Word and create. Loving how Greene weaved a story Downey decided they should become the Dynamic Duo. With the support of her family she has embarked on a totally unexpected new path. When she is not carting kids all over she is managing her kingdom…..in between all that she reads, blogs(BCWAB) and submerges herself in her make believe world and writes. Holy crud buckets!

This was a crazy ride and one heck of a book. In this book things really play with your mind. Just when you think you have it figured out, Bam!, there is more. I love it. Besides I really have a thing for sexy Vamps.

In the beginning I wasn't sure about the writing, but I lost that weariness quick. This book is well written and developed. I loved and hated characters. I am so ready for book 2.

 Wow! This book really kicked it up a notch. 

I loved this book and couldn't read it fast enough. We finally get an eye into the lives of the daughters and it only gets crazier. The writing and development of the story is still as good as ever. The characters will have the same effect as well. I simply cannot wait for more!! Especially because I'm pretty sure it is Sapphire's turn.
