“Becca, you catch one Saint, you catch us all. Just remember that, okay?”
“What the hell does that even mean?”
He stepped closer, his hand light on my arm. “It means, we don’t share. So don’t make a drunken mistake that ruins your chance to get the Saint you really want.”
“Did you just call me a whore, Ethan?” I laughed. “The more I get to know you-”
“No, Becca. I know you’re hurting. I know you are hiding things from Sarah, and I know it wasn’t just drunk hormones flooding through you when you were in Cael’s arms last night. So just don’t make a mistake you’ll regret.”
“Ever my big brother,” I grumbled. “Thank you for the concern. Now go take care of my sister before she makes a mistake that you’ll regret.”
His eyes flashed to the bar where Sarah was leaning hard on the shoulder of some stranger, her giggling voice echoing. “Damned Riley women will be the death of all of us,” he chuckled then kissed my cheek before setting off to retrieve her.
I turned, slipping a fluted glass off the tray of a passing waiter. Just as I lifted the glass, my eyes found Cael. He was across the room, deep in feigned conversation, and he pursed his lips at me. I sighed and traded the champagne for a bottle of water. I tipped it his direction, and he chuckled. Pride or arrogance...I wasn’t sure what emotion he was emanating, but it caused every tuxedo-clad Saint to turn my direction. Territorial. He was laying claim. A shiver of desire mixed with indignation ran up my spine and I exhaled. It was going to be a long fucking night.
I managed to stay around long enough to seem presentable and not undermine Sarah’s efforts. She was half toasted, but Ethan’s arm was tight around her waist, keeping her in check. He was doting on her, and I had to admit, it was cute. In a nauseating kind of way. He’d managed to slow her alcohol intake and get some food in her before she could end up like the rest of the revelers. Drunk on free liquor and high on whatever being offered in the private back rooms, the guests would never notice my escape but, no matter how long I waited, there was always a sober Saint in my periphery. When an old grandfather clock chimed one a.m., my last bit of patience evaporated and I made a break for the seclusion of the upper decks. Saint bodyguards be damned.
“You’ve stayed sober.”
I didn’t bother to turn but waved my water bottle Cael’s direction. “Sadly, yes.”
He slipped to the railing and traded my bottle for a champagne flute. “Your anxiety is blaring through our brains like bad zydeco music so, please, have a drink before we all go insane.”
I laughed but swallowed the drink. He poured me another, loosening his tie as he watched me finish it as well. “You know this area isn’t safe. It’s off limits until the refurbishment is complete. There are signs everywhere. Chains even.”
“I’ve always found off limits to be a vague term worth investigating.”
“You would.” He refilled my glass once more before putting the bottle aside and leaning against the railing beside me. “You aren’t much for socializing, hm?”
“Not this week. Do I need to worry about Ethan’s newfound fascination with my sister?”
“I don’t think it’s newfound. Her name was on his lips the moment I returned to the city. Do you think you need to worry?”
“Despite the things I don’t know, there are several I do. You aren’t actually related, you all have an uncanny knack for intervening in the worst trouble in the city, and I have watched at least one of you Saint boys crush a man’s larynx with a single hand. So, I repeat, do I need to worry for my sister’s safety?
“I take offense to the term boys, but no, you do not.”
Taking my arm, he slipped it to balance on the railing, his fingers tracing the veins up and down my forearm. I wanted to remain combative, but the move was too silky, too meditative, and I could only manage a soft plea. “Make me believe you.”
“We were all chosen for this job for different reasons, but the one thing in common was that we were all pretty useless human beings. We were guilty of being drug dealers, kiddie porn fans, abusers, sexual deviants or a million other lesser crimes. We were the parts of society people wish they could forget. Ethan is the exception. Ethan was in the seminary, on his way to becoming a priest. Illogically, he fell in love. Then she was viciously attacked on the night he intended to propose. His devastation was all consuming and, had the Saints not taken him when they did, he would have destroyed himself and anyone within a ten block radius. For love, Becca. So, no, there is no one on the planet less likely ever to hurt your sister.”
I stretched over, kissing tense muscle along his neck and staying there seconds longer than required so that I could inhale his scent...sunshine in the dead of night. “Thank you.”
“Were you afraid your sister is getting involved with a murderer?”
“I know she’s getting involved with a murderer. It’s more the drug dealer, kiddie porn, self-gratification thing that gives me pause.”

 Crashed  by Sherilee Gray

Synoposis

She swore never to trust him again... Fiery mechanic Alexandra Franco should have known better. Years ago, her best friends' older brother took her virginity and broke her heart-or rather, doused it with gasoline, lit a match, and then walked away. And Alex definitely should not have indulged in another hot night with him after the fact. He's not the same boy she fell for, and she sure as hell doesn't want anything to do with the wealthy, ruthless man he's become. Walking away from Alex was the biggest mistake of Deacon West's life. She belongs with him, and if getting her back means playing dirty, so be it. If she'll grant him a three-month, no-strings affair, he won't sell the building Alex and his sisters use for their auto repair business. Hell, he'll even sign it over to them. But will Alex ever entrust her heart to him again, or are they destined to crash and burn?

In their teens, the local boys had dubbed Alex and Deacon’s sisters the Axle Alley Vipers. All three were beautiful, tough in their own way, and if you tried to get too close, tried to touch, they would take a bite out of you. Jesus. Nothing had changed. When he got to the parking garage below his building, he saw Martin had done his job. Deacon’s car was parked behind Alex’s metallic-purple Viper, caging her in. Her choice of car said more than he thought she realized. Playing up to that moniker, to what it meant, was just another way to keep everyone at a distance, to protect herself. She stood against the driver’s door, arms crossed, more pissed than he’d ever seen her. Her long, shiny brown hair was pulled up in a messy bun that was sexy as hell on her, and those dark, exotic eyes had landed and stayed on him as soon as the elevator doors had opened and he’d stepped out. His cock twitched under that intense stare. He allowed his gaze to travel over her. Did she have any idea how stunning she was? The woman could wear a potato sack and still make his dick hard. The intricate rose tattoo decorating the upper half of her right arm drew his eye. It covered a jagged scar you could only see under a certain light, and it moved as she shoved her hands in her pockets, flexing her finely honed bicep. “This your doing?” she asked. He kept on walking toward her. She tensed as he came closer, but he didn’t stop until he was close enough to smell her vanilla scent, hear her subtle exhale as he leaned in. “You were in my parking spot.” Fire flashed in her eyes. “Bullshit. What about the other ten free spots?” He shrugged. “I like this one.” She blew out a frustrated breath. “If you’re so damned attached to this one, let me out and you can have it back.” He reached out, ran the tip of his finger along that scar. It curved around a rose petal, then joined a thorny stem. He felt her tremble. Jesus, he loved that, loved how easily he affected her. “Let’s stop playing games. This isn’t about a parking spot, and you know it.” “I said no.” Her voice shook and her breathing quickened.

Excerpt Two As Derek held the second mug to his lips, he saw her. Kim. She entered from the back outside patio and sashayed toward the Ladies Room. She passed the crowded bar but didn’t see Derek. Derek’s eyes locked on her and Anita followed his eyes. The bathroom was occupied, so Kim stood waiting, glancing about. That’s when she saw Derek and she stiffened in surprise. Derek smiled and winked. Kim lowered her eyes for a moment as if in thought. A moment later, while Derek was still watching, she turned her shining eyes on him and gave him a coy smile. She wore red Keds sneakers, deep red lipstick, tight shorts and a yellow clinging T-shirt. Her hair was neatly rolled up and pinned, revealing that perfect dancer’s neck. Men at the bar turned and whispered lusty wishes. After Kim disappeared into the Ladies Room, Natalie hurried by and deposited Anita’s and Derek’s lunches. Anita dove in, famished, while Derek sat silently waiting for Kim. She emerged a few minutes later, and drifted over to Derek’s table. She paused, ignoring Derek, her full focus on Anita. “Hi, Anita. It’s good to see you again.” Kim felt Derek’s eyes moving up and down her body. She allowed her smoldering eyes to drift toward him. “Hello, Derek.” He nodded. “Are you here with a friend?” Derek asked. Kim’s eyes lingered on his lips. “Not a friend… my husband. He seldom goes out, but he’d heard about this place and wanted to give it a try.” “How does he like it?” “Fine… He ordered the fish and chips, just like Anita.” Derek stared at the shiny luster of her hair, and he fought an irrational impulse to reach for her hand and pull her down into his lap. “Well, got to go,” Kim said. “My husband’s waiting. Good to see you both.” After she’d gone, Derek ate quietly. Anita studied him. “You’re distracted by her. I’ve never seen that in you. Be careful, Derek. Very careful.”

Excerpt

Pamela could barely breathe. Was this really happening? Or was it a dream? But the solidness of Dane, the weight of him behind her in the bed told her it was very, vividly real. “I should check on Dani,” she said, wanting more than anything else in the universe to stay exactly where she was. “Listen,” he said. “She’s fine. The door’s closed.” From the kitchen, she could hear Dani’s voice singing along with her beloved characters. Laughing, even. Beneath the covers, he slid a hand up, then down her body. “Do you want to go,” he whispered against her neck, his breath sending rivulets of desire quivering over her skin, “or do you want to stay?” When she’d gone to bed, she’d had a robe on and a child in her arms. Now, she could feel her robe bunched up somewhere by her knees, the child was making happy noises in the other room and big hot hands were touching her in places that desperately wanted to be touched. Even her dreams weren’t this good. Her body was moving in time with his hand and she was breathing way too quickly. She should stop him; she knew she should. She reached back and found his erection. He groaned. “So you’ve decided then?” He throbbed in her hand and she rubbed her thumb over the slick tip. His finger dipped inside her again and she gasped. “Decided what?” He reached to the bedside table and she heard the crinkling sound of a condom wrapper. She arched her back and pressed against him, angling herself until she felt him pulsating at the back of her thighs so close, but not close enough. “Decided,” he said in a ragged voice, “if we’re having sex or not.” She pushed herself onto him and he was inside her, filling her, trembling against her as if holding himself back. But she spread her legs wider to accommodate him and his clever, clever hand that hadn’t stopped working her, not for a second. Maybe she wasn’t awake after all, she thought, as the waves rose, and her legs bucked against the sheets. “Can I,” she gasped, grabbing his hip and pulling him into her, harder, faster, “get back to you?” She cried out as her climax began and she flailed for a pillow to put over her face. This was too good to be silent, this was a screamer, a shout-it-from-the-rooftops, barn-burner kind of orgasm, and just when she thought it couldn’t get better, Dane’s hands moved to her hips, grasping her, pulling her back and forth, extending her pleasure with his crescendo. Finally they fell back on the sheets, both breathing hard, both trembling. The room came back into focus. Pamela elbowed herself around to look at Dane for the first time “I guess,” she said, meeting his eyes and seeing in them the same shock she felt herself, “that would be a yes.”

VIDA'S REVIEW

This was a heartwarming tale and just what I needed as a pick me up on a cold spring day. Dane was a millionaire with a devastating tale as to how he grew up and became the stubborn delicious alpha that he is. He finds his self at a loss when he discovers that he is the father to a four year old little girl (Danielle), which he knew nothing about once her mother passes away. So what's the boss to do, ask his assistant for help. Pamela is Dane's assistant and basically helps him run the company but always lets her opinion be known even if its with the raise of an eyebrow. Helping Dane get on solid ground with his daughter at his house on the island where he was raised, they start to see each other in a personal light which leads to complications once they return home. I loved the fact that even though Pamela was the assistant she took no stuff from her boss regardless of her position. Also the things that Danielle(daughter) was going through helped her father to also become a better man and realize that what he wanted was staring him in the face all along. This was definitely a sweet read and I can't wait to check out more in the series.

He stared at her with an amusing mixture of surprise and desire. It was even more perfectly clear that when he’d made that invitation, he hadn’t expected her to accept. But there was something about this guy that demanded submission. That demanded she go home with him, have the time of her life, and leave with a limp and a smile on her face in the morning. This guy could give her both those things. On the surface, he looked like a nerdy, hot dude in glasses and a checkered shirt. Like he was more at home sitting on his couch playing his Xbox One, than sitting in a bar. She’d bet too many women wrote him off that way, too. But she’d been surrounded by two geek brothers and all their friends her whole life. And one thing she learned by eavesdropping—as younger sisters do—outside their doors? Geeks were the dirtiest, freakiest, sexiest men of them all. Hands down. And this guy might be the king of them all. He stood up, towering over her, and dragged a hand through his hair. It spiked naturally as an aftereffect. “My ride’s out front.” As he rummaged in his wallet, she studied him from underneath her lashes. He was six-foot-three, easily, and he had dark auburn hair and even darker blue eyes. He seemed to be the type of guy that was persistently just a little bit scruffy, and it suited him. Just like those khakis that hugged his butt. He reeked of dark, stormy, addictive sex, and she was ready to collect. Tossing a twenty on the bar, he turned back to her with a penetrating stare—as if he saw why she was going home with him, and understood better than she herself did. Which, of course, made no sense at all. His long, lean body wasn’t overly muscular, but she could tell that he was stronger than he appeared. She could see it in the hardness of his arms, and the way he carried himself. He was a man accustomed to physical activity. “Ready?” he asked. Nope. “Oh yeah.” She started for the door, but he rushed past her and opened it before she could do it for herself. So. He was a gentleman, too. This guy was an enigma she longed to unwrap...one article of clothing at a time. “Thank you, Mister...?” He cocked a brow at her. “If you’re going home with me, I think you can use my first name.” “Fine. I’m Lydia.” “I’m Holt.” And just like that, she knew why she recognized him. He was her older brother Steven’s friend. They worked at the same private security agency, and Steven had posted a few pictures of them together on Facebook. Every time she’d seen him, she’d been unable to glance away. There was just something that had caught her attention on the screen, so it was no wonder he’d caught her attention in real life, too. “Oh my God. I know—” She cut herself off in the nick of time.

VIDA'S REVIEW

This was a dynamite read from beginning to end. From the first moment you meet Holt you can see that he is a damaged man, from one explosive device and the loss of his marine brothers. Lydia is a woman looking for a distraction from her cheating ex who was upset that she wouldn't put out for him. Who knew that one question was all it took for these two to drown out the rest of the world and get lost in each other. Unfortunately Lydia realizes that Holt is her brother's best friend and that if he knew she would be off limits. In one night, passion explodes and takes them both on a journey that is sure to break both of their hearts especially when Holt finally realizes that he wants more but is thrown for a loop once he finds out Lydia really is. Lydia and Holt in trying to stay away from each other, they are fooling themselves. The connection they share is too strong, too combustible, and there's no denying it. This was a great fast-paced contemporary romance with characters that I adored and a satisfying storyline that kept my eyes glued to the pages. This is a one nighter ladies and I dare you to try to put it down once you have begun!

Excerpt:

“Did no one tell ye it’s rude tae give a man the best night of his life and then run away?” a voice rumbled low and soft and managed to be as seductive as it was menacing.
“Kade,” Morrie sighed, hoping he couldn’t hear the desire and relief laced in the sound.
She shouldn’t be this excited over knowing he had raced home after her, but inside she nearly bounced like a giddy school girl.
And what did he say?  The best night of his life…Morrie would have to admit, she felt the same.
She spun around on the stool to face him, leaning back when she found him standing too near.
He closed the small space, towering over her as he dipped his head to be eye level with her, forcing her back against the bar.
“Ye will no’ leave like that again,” he growled.
Morrie frowned at his order and opened her mouth to respond, but the words caught in the back of her throat.
Emotion flickered in his eyes, eyes that had grown black with what could have been either desire or fury, she wasn’t sure.  But also something else…
Morrie tilted her head to the side. “Did I scare you?”
Kade huffed with quick offense and straightened up, leaning back from her.  But his expression changed to one of wonder.
“Like ye would no’ believe,” he admitted on an exhaled breath as though surprised by his own revelation.
“I told you I was here for business.”  And that business was quickly becoming an obsession of hers.
A challenge that would determine just how far down the mortal hole she had fallen and whether she could find her true nature as a goddess once again.
This job tested her mettle because it should have been done by now.  She knew she could find the horse if she used her powers, but she needed to know she could find him on her own.
Though why she needed that, she couldn’t say.
Kade turned his angry eyes on her. “Do ye really expect tae succeed in this daft quest?”
Morrie blinked, surprised by the…well, vehemence of his question and the turn of his questioning.
Of everyone in the home, he had seemed the least concerned about her reasons for being there.
“If I didn’t think I could catch him, I wouldn’t stay.”  And she had thought he wanted her to stay, but his question had elicited an unwanted response—one of insecurity. “If you think I’m wasting my time, then I should just leave.”
For emphasis, she moved to slip off the stool, to really get away from him before he could see just how his doubts had touched her, but he stopped her by placing his hand on her hip.
“Wait, that’s no’ what I want.”  Morrie paused but crossed her arms over her chest, pressing her lips together and waiting for him to continue.  Kade sighed. “O’ course I think ye can catch him.  If anyone can, it’s you.  I doona doubt ye.” He blinked, like a discovery had been made. “Maybe ye’re supposed tae. In fact, I’ll help ye do so.”
Morrie gave Kade a sidelong glance.  He was up to something, she just wasn’t sure what.
“You’ll come with me to the loch?”
There it was again!
A passing cloud of fear across his face, but this time it was different.  It seemed spurned on by a different place.
But it came and went so quickly, Morrie soon questioned seeing it at all.
“I’ll follow ye anywhere,” he answered her and there was a deep truth behind his statement. “Just doona leave again like ye did this morn.”
Morrie studied him like a suspicious package wrapped in a thin veil of desperate relief.  He seemed changed from the night before—this emotion even different than the cloud that settled over him after the encounter with his mother.
Kade either wore many masks or his true nature was too complex to determine.
Like the horse, Kade was a challenge.
And Morrie was a sucker for challenges.
And his dark eyes turned her into a puddle and it seemed there was nothing she could do about it.  Her shoulders slumped before she muttered, “Stop making me melt.”
Kade frowned. “What was that?”
“Nothing,” Morrie stood up, placing her body much too close to Kade’s, but she couldn’t appear weak.  She pulled out some money and slapped it down on the bar to well cover her tab.
“Alright, you can help.  But what happened last night cannot happen again.  I am your brother’s employee, I am your employee.  And for us to entangle ourselves…” Kade’s responding grin caused Morrie to roll her eyes and regret her word choice, but she continued on, hands on her hips, “would only result in an unnecessary distraction.”
She hoped to glower that smirk right off his beautiful lips.
At the fire in her eyes, Kade threw up is hands in surrender.
“Aye, lass, as ye wish.  If ye insist on lying tae yerself and pretending, then I will no’ impose my will on ye.”
Morrie’s face burned with outrage, but that only resulted in Kade laughing at her, gazing down with desire in his smoldering eyes and adoration in his smile.
“Stop that!” she complained, pushing past him.
“Stop what?” he asked with feigned innocence.
She whirled around and nearly smacked her face into his chest.
Sighing, she stepped back and looked up at him.
“Stop trying to provoke me.  Nothing will happen between us.”
“If ye say so.  As I said, I will no’ impose myself on ye, but if ye canna keep yer hands tae yerself, lass, I will no’ stop where they may roam.  And we both know they’re curious, lil’ things.”
Volumes were spoken in his heated gaze.  Morrie flushed anew.
Her body grew rigid, her hands balled into fists at her sides.
“My hands do not—there will be no—gah!” Morrie sputtered and turned her back to him, stomping out of the restaurant and towards what was going to surely be a violent battle of wills.
For the first time in her existence, Morrie didn’t know if she would be the victor.

The corner of the heavy dog food bag caught the strap of her purse, and she stumbled forward, falling off the curb and waving her arms to catch her balance. The loud snap of her heel breaking was followed by a curse word worthy of a sailor, and her purse went flying. The dog food slid from his grasp. He reached to grab her as she pitched forward and fell into his arms. The heady scent of her perfume surrounded him as she looked up at him, her chest pressed against his. “Oh my gosh. I’m so sorry.” “No, I’m sorry.” His mouth went dry, and he tried not to look down at the front of her shirt where her blouse gaped open and the lace edge of her bra peeked through. He held onto her a beat too long, then let go as she steadied herself. “You were just looking for some coffee, and I almost knocked you over with a bag of puppy chow.” She laughed. A light, easy sound. “I think breaking my heel and being mauled by a giant bag of dog food is right on par with the way the last couple of days have been going for me. I’m just glad you didn’t impale me with the toilet bowl brush.” She reached down to pick up the brush that had fallen near her feet. It lay amongst the scattered articles that had fallen from her purse. “Here, let me help you.” Embarrassed, he knelt to the ground and began collecting the oddest assortment of items: a fat wallet with receipts sticking out the sides, three tubes of lip gloss, a pink makeup bag, a collection of fancy bottles with French names printed on their shiny labels, more lip gloss, and a variety of feminine hygiene products. “What is all this stuff?” She was busy cramming things back into the enormous bag but stopped to give him a skeptical look. “Really?” “Well, I mean, I know what this stuff is.” He awkwardly handed her the items filling his hands. “But why do you have all this stuff in your purse?”  She blew her bangs out of her eyes. “It’s just stuff I need.” He handed her a balled up pair of gym shorts and a hot pink sports bra. “What could you possibly need this for?” “Those are my workout clothes.” She grabbed the garments from him and stuffed them in her purse. “In case I want to stop at the gym.” “What gym? The only 24-hour fitness you’re going to find around here is chores on a farm. They go from sun-up to sun-down.” He watched in awe as she stuffed more things into the leather bag. He couldn’t believe how much she fit in there. It was like an endless cavern of space. He heard her mumble something about one more thing she would have to get used to before she looked up at him and sighed. “I’m thinking about moving here. But this place is quite a change from where I’m from.” “I can imagine.” More stuff had fallen onto the curb, and he collected another five tubes of lip gloss. Geez, how much lip care could one woman need? He caught himself glancing at her lips, wondering if they were soft as they looked.

3:32a.m.

The clock flashed in the darkness, mocking her sleeplessness and paranoia. The recurring nightmare of her childhood – the one where she saw herself laying in a vast clearing in the woods under a full moon, bleeding to death – hadn’t haunted her in years. Tonight, however, it shook her from her sleep, and she was wound too tight to lie back down.

The night seemed to whisper in a tone meant to caress her soul, but the sound was tinged with something darker than the moonless sky outside her house. It chilled her to the core. She anxiously searched the room again for something tangible causing her fright, but it was an exercise in futility. Nothing lurked behind the cracked door to her closet, and no frightening devils under her bed waited to grab her and pull her into the Netherworld. She was utterly alone.

And perhaps that’s what was most frightening.

Her terror overwhelming, she offered a prayer against the darkness in a frantic whisper. Her mother used to recite this prayer with her, over and over, until she put aside her fear of the dream and fell asleep. As a child, it had been her only sanctuary.

Now, she was on her own, and she spoke the words fervently, hoping to find the same peace it had brought in her youth. “Please do not forsake me to evil. I ask you to protect me from whatever beast, man, or spirit steals my peace and robs my sleep.”

A cry ripped through the heavy silence, shattering the last of her calm. She cringed against the headboard, backed away from the sound of large wings flapping outside the large window that now seemed like a portal into hell. She drew the thin sheet up around her neck as if it offered protection. The darkness seemed to thicken and solidify before her eyes as she stared at the delicate glass, and a scream bubbled in her throat. She swallowed against it as the first tear spilled down her cheek.

The whispers came one on top of the other. Try as she might, she couldn’t make out the words, and they jumbled in her head in a painful knot. Her heart pounded near explosion, and she gulped deep, sobbing breaths. “Please, God, no!” she cried, though she didn’t know what threatened her. Wisps of night swirled around her like clouds, brushing against her cheek and leaving a trail of ice in their wake. She swatted at them, and her sheet slid to the floor, leaving her feeling exposed and vulnerable. As she prepared to cry out, the voices condensed, and a single word rang so clear she didn’t know if it was aloud or in her own head.

Jenna.

Hmm. Let me see. Can I find a spot that needs attention?” Nic’s voice was low, and he was so close to her it vibrated through her skin. Gia looked down at his chest and her eyes lingered on the beautiful script that was embedded into his skin. Coraggio. “So that is the tattoo. Courage, Nic?” She grinned up at him as she placed both of her hands on the word that was inked on his skin. “I have no doubt you have plenty of that.” Slowly he lowered the brush, and for a moment, Gia thought she’d escaped retaliation for daubing his cheek with paint. “Maybe you need a little courage. Do you think, bella?” He grabbed both of her hands with one of his and held the brush high with the other. Her breath caught as Nic used his body to gently push her back against the wall. She watched fascinated as he lowered his head and caught the thin straps of her singlet top in his teeth, and the stubble of his chin brushed her shoulder as he slid the strap down with his teeth. A shaft of pure desire ran from her shoulder and honed straight between her legs. If Nic hadn’t been supporting her with his body, Gia would have slid down the wall into a useless heap; her legs were trembling with anticipation. She swallowed and lowered her voice. “Courage for what?” Nic lifted his head and held her gaze. “Coraggio. To have faith in yourself and your exhibition.” His eyes were half-closed, but Gia watched with fascination as he leaned back and lowered the brush. The first strokes on the top of her breast were feather soft, and she tipped her head back and closed her eyes. A half swirl for the and her fingers tingled with the need to touch Nic, but he still held her hands firmly in his. His brow was creased with concentration as his eyes remained firmly fixed on her breasts as the brush tickled her. The circle for the O was painstakingly slow, and she was sure he was deliberately taking his time to complete each letter. The R was completed just as slowly, and Gia closed her eyes when Nic began the next letter. The paint was cool on her skin, and the sensation of the tip of the fine brush was sending quivers to her belly. “Hmmm. We have a problem.”
