After the line thinned out, Kade went back to walking the floor and checking on tables. Seeing Samantha had irritated me but it wasn’t what was on my mind. Diem had called me multiple times and yet I was too much of a pussy to answer. What was I so afraid of? I wanted to talk to her so badly, but I knew if I did that all the wrong words would come out of my mouth. I’d tell her how much I loved the feel of her in my arms and how soft her skin was or how good her hair smelled. I wasn’t even positive why she was calling me so much. I wondered if maybe she was mad about what happened. Maybe she wanted to tell me off. But what if she didn’t? What if she liked our kiss, too? She seemed to enjoy it at the time. But maybe she was having second thoughts about it now. What if she enjoyed kissing me? What did that mean? I groaned and snatched up a new bottle of tequila from beneath the counter. I couldn’t do that to Kade. He’d been my best friend since I moved out to Miami and has been by my side through every shitty moment in my life thereafter. Every fucked up thing my mom said to me, every time my dad let me down. Even through all the shitty things I did to him. He stood by me. I couldn’t fuck all that up now. Even if it was for her. Kade’s feelings for her were strong and I had to respect that. But it was hard to imagine that anyone could have stronger feelings for her than me.

This book is a heart-wrenching love story that hit me in my soul. This is a story of hope, love, perseverance, and sacrifice. It's about making the tough decisions while still trying to follow your heart. It's about trying to live your life despite all the obstacles that constantly seem to come at you. This book flooded me with emotions just like I knew it would.

Luke and Phoebe meet when he was seven and she was four. Their parents were best friends and neighbors. From their first meeting Luke was her superhero and told her that he would always protect her. Growing up Phoebe hasn't had it easy but with parents and a best friend by her side who cherishes her she starts to become the person she's meant to be. We follow them as they grow into adults and learn the faith is a fickle bi*** and that life can be cruel but love will always stand the test of time.

These two go through hell and back. they are each other's life line, their anchor, their other half. A devastating loss brings them together and one decision changes their course leaving them to go their separate ways. Throughout it all they never stop thinking or wanting the other but wasn't sure if the walls they broke down could be rebuilt. This was my first read by Leigh Ann but will definitely not be my last. This was a emotional love story that was beautiful and captivating and I for one THANK YOU for telling a story that will touch every readers heart.
