She wants to change the rules. He wants to play the role of protector. Together, Madison and Wyatt will gamble it all for love.

Despite her beauty and charm, Madison is single and a little lost in the bustle of Whiskey River. Declining a less-than-suitable offer from the town’s resident terror, Madison needs protection. Forget mail-order brides, she’s on a mission to discover a would-be husband.

Thousands of miles due east in New York City, debonair gambler Wyatt Nash is lucky in cards. He soon finds himself disenchanted by city life and those quick to accuse him of cheating. So, he decides to take off in search of happiness under the big open sky. What he finds will change his life forever.

Return to the wild frontier in the second installment of the ten-book series, Whiskey River Brides. Join Madison, Wyatt, and your favorite characters as they struggle to overcome loss, change, and discover the whispers of new love in this enchanting western world.

Poised, Samantha watched him for a moment. “There is a young lady in Whiskey River who is willing to pay for a mail-order husband.”
“Great.” Wyatt then asked, his brown eyes flaring, “So, why does she want a mail-order husband?”
She paused for a moment, taking him in. Wyatt felt as if she were studying him. “She’s being harassed by the owner of the saloon in town.”
Wyatt’s eyebrows pulled together in concern. “Why can’t someone arrest the man?”
Madame Chase shook her head. “I don’t think he’s done anything else that they could arrest him for, besides harassing her.”
Wyatt sat back. “So, she wants a husband to keep the guy at bay.”
She shrugged. “It’s probably not the wisest solution, but she feels it’s her only one.”
Wyatt stood up. “She needs someone to protect her.” He shook his head and headed toward the door. “I’m sorry, but I’m not your man.”
He was almost to the door.
“Wait!” Madame Chase yelled.
Wyatt froze, but didn’t turn to face her.
“Wouldn’t you like to see her picture?”
Wyatt moved his jacket to the side and placed his hand on his hip. “I’m not going to change my mind.” But a part of him already wanted to protect her, no matter what she looked like, and he wasn’t sure why. He shook his head as he forced a smile and walked back into the room. “You’re good.”
She shrugged. “It’s my business.” She picked up a photograph that Wyatt hadn’t noticed and handed it to him.
A part of him didn’t want to look, not wanting to be that superficial. But curiosity got the better of him. When he looked down at the black-and-white picture, bright eyes looked up at him and her hair was light. She was beautiful. He could imagine what she looked like in real life.
“Well, what do you think?” Madame Chase asked as a smile curled one side of her lips.
Wyatt lifted his eyes from the picture. “When do I leave?” He had never really thought of marrying anyone before, but he had said that he wanted a different life. An adventure. What better adventure than marriage?
Madame Chase handed him a file. “You will leave Saturday. It will take three days for you to arrive in Laramie, Wyoming. A man by the name of Colton Hill will meet you there and will take you to Whiskey River. Madison will pay for your expenses.”
“No,” Wyatt said as he looked at the file. “I am a gentleman, if nothing else, and I will not let a lady pay my expenses. I’ll even pay your fee, as well.”
Madame Chase smiled as she leaned her head to the side. “So be it. You have until Saturday to get your affairs in order. Will you be ready?”
He nodded once. “Yes. That will be fine. I’ll be ready.”
Madame Chase smiled. “I must ask you some questions.”
Wyatt sat back, waiting.
“For starters, what is your name?”
Wyatt smiled as he realized that he hadn’t properly introduced himself. “Forgive me. My name is Wyatt Nash.”
“And your profession?”
Wyatt sighed as he sat back. “I’m a gambler.”
Madame Chase nodded. “Sir, if I may be so bold, why are you doing this?”
Wyatt looked in her eyes. “As you heard in the saloon, I’m tired of this life; of people thinking I cheated them.”
Madame Chase’s eyes narrowed. “And do you? Cheat?”

He scoffed as his eyes narrowed. “I never cheated a man before in my life. I’m just the luckiest son of a bitch I know. Pardon the language.”

To the outside world, Mav Ryan is living the dream. With a high profile and successful FMX career, it’s something Mav knows a million guys would kill to have. But not him. He yearns for something different, something more.

Aubrey James has had enough of bad boys to last a lifetime. When her brother, Josh, brings home the heavily tattooed definition of a bad boy, Mav, she wants nothing to do with him. It's not until a shadow from Aubrey’s past threatens her future, that to her surprise, Mav steps in.

But can he fight her demons as well as his own? Or will Mav realise that sometimes breaking away can lead to finding your home?

It’s a cliché, but as I walk out of the ballroom the gala is being held in, I feel lighter, like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. The sounds of the party quickly fade as I leave it and my family behind. I know this is a shitty way of doing things, but I couldn’t think of another way. Besides, it’s not like I had this planned. It was only when Reed gave his toast that I realised I had no idea what I was waiting for. It’s not like my family are going to give me a permission slip to leave. I don’t even know if they know I’m not happy. Nope, this is all up to me.

I quickly drive through our moderately sized home town to the house Jax and I share. Looking out my bedroom window, I can see the house I grew up in, the lights all on. My pa and pop are in there looking after Avery and Chris. I know I should go over there and tell them what I’m doing, where I’m going, but I’m scared shitless of their reaction. It’s not that I think they’ll be pissed; it’s the disappointment I know I’ll see in their eyes that stops me. I might be the strong, silent type, but I don’t know if I’m strong enough to withstand that. With all my shit packed, I quickly scribble a note.

I’m sorry I left this way, but it was the only way I thought I could. I don’t mean to upset anyone, but I can’t live like this anymore, it’s too much. Please let me go. I’ll be okay and get in touch when I’m ready. I’m sorry. I love you all, Mav.

I’m an hour outside Booker when the calls start. First Bria, then Reed and Jax. Just as I reach the New South Wales border, a final text message comes through, this one from Park.
Park: Do what you need to, be safe, we love you.
I turn off my phone and toss it onto the passenger seat. The road stretches out in front of me, and for the first time in a long time I feel like I can breathe.

Winter has definitely started this new series off with a win. Nickel is everything that I was hoping for and more. Karma has had an upbringing that has left her realizing that the only way to not get hurt is to not let anyone in. Fortunately for her Nickel is like a dog with a bone one opening is all he is looking for from the pretty nurse who looks after his Grandmother in her nursing home. These two are truly made for each other from her insecurities about opening up her heart to him being secure that he can do if she lets him. The chemistry between the pair was smoking hot, the humorous and witty banter with her best friend is what every woman wants in her girlfriend. The ending though is what leaves you intrigued and begging for more. I'm not so patiently waiting for more from this phenomenal woman.

“You got plans tonight?” I was done chasing this chick. It was time to get straight to the point.
“Um…”
“You say that a lot, babe.”
“What?” she asked, confused.
“You say um a lot.”
“Oh, I guess I never noticed.” She stood there staring at me.
“Plans? You got any tonight?”
“Um.” She realized she said um again and blushed red, as her eyes darted down. “No plans.”
“You ever been to Shake the Lake?”
“Once, when I was seventeen. I didn’t get to see the fireworks, though.”
I reached out to grab my keys but grabbed her hand instead. “Come with me tonight,” I pleaded, our eyes locking.
She tried to jerk her hand out of my grasp, but I tightened my grip. “I can’t,” she insisted.
“Sure you can. You just told me you don’t have plans.”
“Um, I forgot that I have to go to…um…badminton practice,” she stuttered.
“Badminton practice?”
I didn’t think she could blush anymore, but her cheeks turned a dark shade of red, and she nodded yes. “I felt that I needed to broaden my horizons and figured that would be a good place to start.”
“Well, how about you broaden your horizon with me tonight, and you can pick back up with your badminton practice next week?”
